40 Days of Purpose at North Ridge Community Church
This spring, North Ridge will participate in 40 Days of Purpose, which will run for six weeks beginning April 10th and ending May 22nd. This spiritual growth event is designed to answer life’s most important question: “What on earth am I here for?” The events of the 40 Days of Purpose will give us opportunities to commit to habits of spiritual growth, memorize scripture, participate in a small group in a host home, serve in a ministry in our church or the community, share our faith, and learn to live a lifestyle of worship to the glory of God.
We are excited as we envision our entire congregation living in alignment with God’s purposes for their lives, and the impact this could have on our church and our community!
A committed and faithful leadership team has been assembled to execute the 40 Days of Purpose for NRCC. These leaders will:
- create a prayer strategy for the 40 Days of Purpose
- coordinate the six weekend services during the 40 Days of Purpose
- oversee the weekly Bible studies that focus on the themes of the 40 Days of Purpose
- coordinate the major events that take place during the 40 Days of Purpose Major Events
Significance of 40 Days?
You may be wondering, "Why 40 days? What's so special about that time frame?" The Bible is clear that God considers 40 days to be a spiritually significant time period. Whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took 40 days:
- Noah's life was transformed by 40 days of rain.
- Moses was transformed by 40 days on Mount Sinai.
- The spies were transformed by 40 days in the Promised Land.
- David was transformed by Goliath's 40-day challenge.
- Elijah was transformed when God gave him 40 days of strength from a single meal.
- The entire city of Nineveh was transformed when God gave them 40 days to change.
- Jesus was empowered by 40 days in the wilderness.
-
The disciples were transformed by 40 days with Jesus after his resurrection. |
