Mike Burnidge Senior Pastor

Personal Background:

Born in Elgin, Illinois Married to Mary on August 14, 1976 They have three children: Hannah (1987); Spencer (1991) and Jordan (1993); a Golden Retriever (named Maggie); and until recently a lizard named Larry. Mike has been the Sr. Pastor since January of 1996.

Professional Bio:

Received a B.S. in Psychology from John Brown University. Received his Th.M. in Biblical Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary and has completed all class work toward a PhD. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Women’s University. Other past ministry positions includes Youth Pastor and Pastor of Family Enrichment (Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX) from 1979-1985; and Sr. Pastor of Northwood Community Church in Richardson, Texas from 1986-1995. Mike has also worked as a Licensed Professional Therapist and has taught classes at Phoenix Seminary, Dallas Theological Seminary, North Texas State University and the University of Texas at Arlington.

Useless Fun Trivia About Mike:

His favorite sport to play is/was basketball (prior to injuries). His favorite sport to watch is Dallas Cowboys football; Chicago White Sox and AZ Diamondback baseball and Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks basketball! His favorite hobbies are music (mostly rock), movies, and travel.  He loves to coach his kids in basketball, eat out with his wife, Mary, and he cannot find enough to read. His favorite car ever was a 1963 Oldsmobile with dual dented fenders, no muffler and radical rust! (It was my first car!) Most fun vacations have been family times in Colorado and Chicago! As a family, the Burnidge family enjoys sports and North Ridge (No Kidding!) more than anything else. Worst jobs ever were… rodding clogged sewers for the Public Works department in Illinois and working as a garbage-man three summers while going through college.
