HELLO NORTH RIDGE FAMILY!

August 14th-August 21st 2008

(For your convenience the weekly email is now available on our website also.)

WHAT’S UP ON SUNDAY? (8/17/08)

While one kind of Olympics has started in Beijing, another kind of Olympics started last Sunday at North Ridge!  Why not get a great seat and join us for our second week of the series entitled "Carry The Torch"?  Each week in our series Pastor Mike will introduce us to a "hall of fame" spiritual athlete who lived a gold medal life and brought great joy to God and to others.  This Sunday we will conclude our series as we meet a man named Nehemiah who ‘carried the torch’ to gold in spite of great adversity.  (Just a reminder –if you missed a Sunday, sermons are available online – just click here, or you can purchase a CD in the lobby.)

PRAY FOR CHINA

As all eyes are on China during the Olympics – it’s a great time to remember to pray for our Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ.  Voice of the Martyrs is providing a free Olympic Prayer Band to give you a visual reminder to pray daily for the persecuted Church in China.

NOON AT NORTHRIDGE – starts THIS Sunday 8/17

ADULT WEEKDAY CLASSES

MORNING STUDY: Wednesdays June 4th – Sept 3rd

The Truth Project

Led by Vicki Robb

Cost: $10

Location: Flagstaff Room

Time: 11am-1pm

You and I are engaged in a cosmic battle -- a battle that is raging for the hearts and minds of people the world over, pitting the truth claims of God against the lies of the world, the flesh and the devil.  It is a battle over what you truly believe.  Yet, only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.  Because of this, today's believers live very similarly to non-believers.  We spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life's ultimate purpose really is.  We are losing our bearings as a people and a nation.  To counter this slide within the body of Christ, join us for Focus on the Family's twelve-week study - The Truth Project video series.  (This study is for equipping those who have already placed their faith in Christ.)  Sign up at the Men’s or Women’s table on Sunday.

COLLEGE GROUP

Just a reminder that NRCC's college group has officially taken off!  We meet every Sunday and we'll start eating around 7pm so feel free to show up around then.  It's going to be held at the Gilbertson's place in Cave Creek.  The address is 6540 E Military Rd.  If you get lost or have any questions call Hannah Burnidge at (602) 363-5284 or Steve Gilbertson at (480) 510-9518.  Bring a friend or two!  We have also launched a group on www.Facebook.com - just search for NRCC College Group and check us out!

ADULT SMALL GROUPS

Interested in getting more connected and joining a small group?  We’ve got several day/time/location choices for you.  Check out our updated Small Group page for more info.  Or if you are interested in starting a new small group in your home – give Pastor Steve a call at (480) 510-9518.
