HELLO NORTH RIDGE
FAMILY!
August 14th-August
21st 2008
(For your
convenience the weekly email is now available on our website also.)
While
one kind of Olympics has started in Beijing, another kind of Olympics started
last Sunday at North Ridge! Why not get
a great seat and join us for our second week of the series entitled "Carry
The Torch"? Each week in
our series Pastor Mike will introduce us to a "hall of fame"
spiritual athlete who lived a gold medal life and brought great joy to God and
to others. This Sunday we will conclude
our series as we meet a man named Nehemiah who ‘carried the torch’ to gold in
spite of great adversity. (Just a reminder –if you
missed a Sunday, sermons are available online – just click here,
or you can purchase a CD in the lobby.)
PRAY FOR CHINA
As all eyes are on China during the Olympics – it’s
a great time to remember to pray for our Chinese brothers and sisters in
Christ. Voice of the Martyrs is
providing a free Olympic
Prayer Band to give you a visual reminder to pray daily for the persecuted
Church in China.
NOON AT NORTHRIDGE – starts THIS Sunday 8/17
WE ARE ADDING A 2ND COFFEE HOUSE SERVICE &
CHANGING 2ND HOUR SERVICE TIMES!

to the popularity of our Coffee House service – we are adding a second one
starting Sunday, August 17th! In order to accommodate this service, we will be moving our 2nd
hour worship time from 10:45 to 10:30am.
So update your Blackberries and alarm clocks if you are a 2nd
hour attender – as service will start 15 minutes earlier beginning in three
weeks. If you, or someone you know is
not a morning person – the new 12:00 Noon at North Ridge service could
be perfect!

UPDATE FROM WALT EDMAN – OUR MISSIONARY IN ASIA (07/18/08)
Walt
will be leaving for Brazil this month to be at centers in northeastern
Brazil. The Lord is immobilizing the
Brazilian church "to send out laborers into His harvest field” (Luke
10:2), and many of these Brazilian brothers and sisters will be evangelizing
and planting churches in some tough missions fields around the world, and will
be in need of our prayers. Walt's
assignment will end in August and then he'll be off to Singapore for another
teaching assignment. Then, in two
weeks, he'll be headed to the Middle East for a training assignment through
December. Walt's prayer is that he'll
remain healthy, strong and wise so that he can fulfill these assignments and
give the trainees his best. Join him in
his effort to complete Christ's Great Commission: "Go and make disciples
of all people groups..." (Matthew
28:18-20)
