Encore

North Ridge Community Church Senior Adults

Encore - Life is Good

Celebrating Life & Faith - Midlife & Beyond

Reaching, equipping and unleashing 55+ adults for the cause of Christ during their "encore" years of life.

ENCORE - the name says it all. If you have ever been to a concert that was so excellent you didn’t want it to end, you have most likely cheered for an encore. Stood and applauded and maybe even whistled. Wanted more and hoped the best was saved for last. This encore metaphor expresses the attitude of many older adults: Life has been good because God is good. We want more. Perhaps the best is yet to come.  Won't your  join us on the journey?

Some events require registration so make sure you sign-up at the Significant Living Ministries table in the courtyard!

ENCORE EVENT:

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY - Reaching Those in Need

Psalm 139: 13-14 You created every part of me, knitting me in my mother's womb. For such handiwork, I praise You.

This is an outreach ministry that shows the love of God to hurting people by crocheting prayer shawls that bring healing, hope, comfort and peace.  It is our desire to touch the lives of as many people as we possibly can with these prayer shawls that are crocheted with prayer in every stitch.  Not only is it our desire to give of ourselves through the ministry of the prayer shawl but we believe that there are many people who able to crochet.  There is no better way to share the love of God than by giving something that has been crocheted through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  A prayer shawl is a special and unique way of showing someone that God loves them and cares about their circumstances.

Knitting is an excellent way of clearing your mind and helping you solve problems.  The smooth, linear, repetitive movements can help direct your thoughts.  When I am searching for a solutions, I knit until it comes to me.  It works - and produces more socks than pacing does. Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

I have also found that by praying while knitting (or crocheting) I come up with a solution.  Isn't God wonderful.  Have a blessed day. Mitzy
