Dear North Ridge Family,
Every once in a while, someone comes into your life with enough enthusiasm and energy to light a city! They make us feel good and excite us with their effusive praise and promises. These wildcats often make us think we’ve finally found the perfect partner, pal or parishioner who will enrich our life, join our mission and be our friend to the end. But then something mysterious often happens. These same folks exit our lives as quickly as they entered. I refer to these flash in the pans as “comets” in that like a comet they come streaking toward you with great fanfare and promise, only to pass by and vanish as they make their way to the next planet, person or church in the solar system.
While most of us don’t bail out of a relationship the second “the thrill is gone”, we sometimes wish we could. Committed people (those who fail to bail) have two other options: (1) They can tough it out forever in a progressively more boring relationship, or (2) they can find ways to generate new levels of love and enthusiasm. God’s word strongly recommends the second option. But how can we keep and grow our passion in general and our spiritual passion in particular? Join us this Sunday (10/22/17) as we conclude our great series on relationships called Love Handles. In week seven we will learn how the faith factor creates healthier homes, businesses, neighborhoods and churches. As we look at Romans 12:11-12, we will discover four things everyone needs to know and do to acquire more fire in their personal and professional relationships. If you’ve ever felt your relationship with God or your relationships with those you care about have experienced a case of the blahs, you won’t want to miss this.
Well, I’d better get going. It’s been so neat learning how to up our game in our relationships and I hope you and your crew will join us as we hit the last lap on Sunday. To celebrate the series we will have a picnic on the patio immediately following the 10:30 AM service (around 11:45 AM) so come join us as we live this love stuff out. Thanks for letting me do life (even the messy parts) with you!
Sure do love you.

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 6:13-14 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself”.
Proverbs 14:7 Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.
Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Colossians 1:9-10 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
