and we have invited Scott Morgan, lead pastor at LifeQuest Church in Chandler,

BLENDED FAMILY CONFERENCE
North
Ridge will be hosting our 2nd annual Blended Family Conference on June
6th & 7th.
(Friday night 7-9:15pm, Saturday 9-12)
It takes time to learn how to function as an expanded/blended
family. Love does not usually occur
instantly between stepparent and stepchildren or among stepsiblings. Adjustments are less frustrating when
expectations are minimal and realistic.
Join our speakers James and Cynthia Gorton as they help us learn how to
respond in this new environment. James
and Cynthia are a husband/wife counseling and consulting team who frequently
speak at Family Life Conferences. Sign

Our
Vision ’08 fund is off to a great start.
We have 80 families who have pledged $161,990 over the course of the
next year. If you were not able to
attend our Celebration Breakfast – pledge cards are available at the Info
Table, the church office or by emailing your request to Jamie
Curley. You can also get a list of
the projects that compose our V8 plan by request.

provide you with the capacity to smile, say “hello” and treat someone just as if
they were coming into your own home?
Can you reach out and shake a hand, say “Hi”, and/or possibly give a hug
once in a while? We need a few of you
who have this talent to do just that (every other Sunday only) before
the 1st or the 2nd service for about 20 minutes. You choose which service you want to help

HomeBuilders class in a study on How to Build a Strong Family. You will hear Dr. John Trent and other

study (5/11-5/25) Understanding Your Teenager's World. If you have any questions about what is going

NEW – WORKING MOMS’ GROUP!
Calling all working moms! Join together with other working mothers at
North Ridge for some “off hours” fellowship and Christian studies. We will be meeting the 1st
Thursday (7-9pm) of each month for practical, biblical studies on
motherhood, marriage, family, work, and more!
We will also have quarterly social outings where working moms can come
together for some much needed R&R.

FUN FACTORY CLUB HOUSE

Club is a 25-minute production for parents and kids where families are
encouraged to learn a monthly virtue.
The production combines storytelling, drama, lights, music, and video to
entertain and challenge families. All
classes grades K-5th come together in our new children’s theatre
(The Factory) as part of their Sunday morning experience.

LOOK is a unique approach designed to give preschool children a first
impression of their loving heavenly Father.

Ironhorse Ride on Saturday May 31st (weekend after Memorial
weekend). We'll meet in the east
parking lot of North Ridge and depart at 8:00am. Road time is about 5-1/2 hours from start to finish. We plan to have breakfast/brunch at Macky's
Grill in Payson. Then we’ll ride
through Pine, Strawberry, Camp Verde, Cottonwood and on to Sedona where we'll
have lunch at the Hideaway Restaurant.
After lunch we'll head for I-17 and home. So if anyone wants to cut the ride in half, they can head back to
the Valley from Payson (back down Rt.87) after breakfast, and the rest of us

CITY GATES - MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Imagine
you had a month to live. How would you
use that month? At the Saturday morning
men's Bible study called City Gates we will be looking at the lives of
four men as they arrive at the end of their lives. What is important to them?
What is their focus? How do they
want to be remembered? For the next
four sessions we will look at the lives of Paul, Peter, John, and Jesus to see
what was important as they came to the end of their lives. The lessons learned from these men can
provide perspective on how we can live more meaningful lives. Join Pastor Dan and other men who get
together the first and third Saturday mornings each month in the Ridge Café at
7am for coffee, a donut, and a large dose of the Word of God.

NEW SUPPORT GROUP
This group is designed to help parents who are dealing
with a child who may have an Individual Education Plan (IEP), social or
emotional difficulties. If other
relationships in the family are becoming strained or difficult because of the
challenges with a child, this group might be for you. We will meet once a month on Thursday nights beginning on August
23rd at Michael and Tricia Blenis' house.

GRIEFSHARE – weekly meeting
Do
you need help dealing with the loss of a loved one? We meet at the home of Don and Janet Limmer with others who are
also grieving the loss of loved ones.
GriefShare meets Tuesdays at 7pm for a 12-week DVD series based on
group discussions that help participants start or continue towards

The Cave Creek chapter meets every Monday night at 6:00pm – 7:30pm in
the Cottonwood Room. TOPS is a great
support group. It helps to know you
aren’t alone in your struggle. TOPS has
contests, program information, guest speakers, friendly competitions and
monthly awards. Both men and women are

Courtney and will be dedicated on Mother’s Day!

Faith
Elizabeth Halstead was welcomed into the world on March 27th by her
mom and dad (Christopher and Michele Halstead) and big sister Grace. She tipped the scales at 7 lbs even and was
19 1/2 inches long.
