If you follow Jesus, you can’t find a better week than this! In just two days we celebrate Palm Sunday which marks the beginning of what is often called Holy Week. Our worship and arts teams have been preparing an amazing presentation called Through The Fire that I know will touch your heart in a big way. As we join Jesus on His journey to the cross, we will be reminded that we have a Good Shepherd who loves us, leads us and gives us hope even during the darkest of days. If you’ve ever been “through the fire” you won’t want to miss this amazing experience and you will want to invite your friends.
I also want to encourage you to join us next weekend for Good Friday Communion Service, Community Easter Egg Hunt and of course Resurrection Sunday! (Times listed below)
If you add all of these up, you can figure out that we have a ton of great events, services and programs all happening in a very short time frame. That also means we need your prayers and assistance in inviting your friends, neighbors and family members to these great outreach and “upreach” opportunities. I absolutely love celebrating the hope that comes through the resurrected Jesus and love celebrating that hope with you and your crew. May you be greatly blessed in the coming week.
Sure Do Love You,
P.S. I know it sounds crazy, but once again for the 6th year in a row we will be giving away 100% of our Easter offering! That means not one cent of our Easter offering will be spent on North Ridge! Our missions committee has worked with an anonymous and generous North Ridge family who conveyed their interest in doing a matching gift of up to $20,000 to purchase and fund at least one Christ-centered ministry home through Destiny Rescue that will house, feed, educate and (best of all) disciple 8 young girls in India who have been rescued from the human sex trafficking industry. This Easter we want to give hope to the most hopeless and helpless because that’s what Jesus did for us. Can’t wait to see what the resurrected Jesus is gonna do this time!
This Coming Week’s Scripture Passages:
Matthew 21:1-11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to Me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’” The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
