Dear North Ridge Friends,
Have you ever started but not finished something? I sure have. Maybe you started a project around the house that began with a bang but you then got distracted. Maybe it was an educational program- in fact I just heard that only 43% of those who started at a college 6 years ago, have now finished their degree at that college! Maybe you entered into a friendship or romantic relationship with someone you thought would “go the distance” but found yourself and your relationship sitting on the sideline vs. at the finish line. Let’s face it “going the distance” is not for sissies.
Even with a lot of work and a ton of prayer, relationships are frighteningly fragile. The inclination and capacity to “finish well” is called commitment and it has never been more needed or in shorter supply than it is right now. What is commitment? What benefits does it bring? How can it be grown or blown? Join us this Sunday as we answer these important questions. As we hit week three of our series called Love Handles: Getting a Grip on Your Relationships, we will explore the radical role commitment plays in creating relationships that please God, generate love, and stand the test of time. You and your crew won’t want to miss this meaningful message so be sure to join us as we learn these “love lessons” together.
Thanks for letting me share a little of what’s on my heart and where God will be taking us this Sunday. This will be a great weekend to invite a friend to our Live@Five service as everyone wants and needs better relationships. With no Sunday Cardinals game and the cooler weather finally here, we will be holding our Sunday night service on the patio and as a special feature the award winning “Wandering Donkey” food truck (featured on the Travel Channel) will be here from 4:30 -5:30 pm so you can buy some great grub and enjoy it during the service. It’s going to be a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to hang out with the church that is widely known (at least by me) as the “best in the west”!
